- Website Visitors

Like most website operators, Liumi Inc collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Liumi Inc's purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Liumi Inc's visitors use its website. From time to time, Liumi Inc may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

Our website host, Netlify, keeps ordinary server logs that include visitors' Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. Liumi Inc only discloses such addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below.

- Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

We only gather personally-identifying information when you choose to give it to us.

Our contact forms

The celebration enquiry form on our website asks for your name, email address and, if you wish, your phone number, plus the details you type about your event. The form is delivered to our team through Netlify Forms, and we use it only to reply to you. After you send it, your browser keeps your name, email and phone number on your own device so it is quicker to fill in next time. Your message is never kept there, and you can remove the saved details at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

Donations and tickets

Donations are made through a form from Raisely, and some event tickets and gifts are handled through Aplos. You enter your details, including any payment information, on their pages. Liumi Inc does not see or store your card number. What they collect is governed by their own privacy policies.

Staff accounts

The people who manage our website sign in with a name, email address, password (stored only in scrambled form) and an authenticator app. This applies to staff only, and the public cannot create accounts or leave comments.

Security

The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

- Website Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use our website, for example which pages are read most and which events draw interest. When you visit liumi.org, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and receives information such as the pages you view, the date and time, your browser and device type, the site that referred you, and your approximate location (city level), worked out from your IP address. Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses.

We have turned off Google's advertising features for our analytics, so this data is not used to show you ads, and we do not combine it with anything that identifies you personally. The numbers are reported to us in aggregate. Google processes the data on our behalf under Google's own privacy terms.

Analytics does not run for visitors whose browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. You can also stop Google Analytics on all websites with Google's browser opt-out add-on, or by refusing cookies in your browser settings.

- Night Mode and Your Approximate Location

After sunset where you are, the website offers a Night mode switch. To know when the sun sets for you, the first time you visit, your browser asks our website for your approximate location. Netlify, our host, works this out from your IP address, and our website rounds it to about 50 kilometers (30 miles) and hands it straight back to your browser. We do not save it. If your location cannot be worked out, or your browser reports a different time zone, the page uses a typical city for your time zone instead.

Your browser remembers that rounded location for 30 days, and your choice of Night mode until the next sunrise, in its own storage on your device. Neither is sent anywhere else, and neither identifies you. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

- Services That Help Run This Website

Our website is hosted by Netlify. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, and our videos and some images are delivered by Bunny, a content delivery network. When your browser fetches these, those companies receive your IP address and browser details, as happens on almost any website. We do not run advertising on this website.

- Links To External Sites

Our Service may contain links to external sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy and terms and conditions of every site you visit.

We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites, products or services.

- Aggregated Statistics

Liumi Inc may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its website. Liumi Inc may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Liumi Inc does not disclose your personally-identifying information.

- Cookies

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor's computer, and that the visitor's browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. On the public pages of liumi.org, the cookies we use are those of Google Analytics, described above. Staff who sign in to manage the website also receive a sign-in cookie. Services that handle your donation or tickets on their own pages, such as Raisely and Aplos, set their own cookies, which are covered by their policies.

Visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using our website. The public pages will still work. By continuing to navigate our website without changing your cookie settings, you acknowledge and agree to this use of cookies.
